| I'm planning to buy my first amp head soon, and i am looking pretty far up the charts: stepping into the 4-digit prices. I'm impressed by the features of and praise for two practicular amps: the Peavey 5150 (or the 5150 II) and the Marshall JCM800 2203. Each has a famous guitar wizard of the past sponsoring it (Eddie Van Halen and Zakk Wylde from Ozzy's old band, respectively), and the prices are similar (although Marshalls seem more expensive than most other brands). The 5150 looks better, but the JCM800 is a Marshall, which is supposed to mean a lot. If i'm gonna spend this much money, which amp do u ppl think will deliver those electrifying solos? |

| My nephew has a 5150 head he gigs with. It sounds good with about any cab. I'm sure you could say the same about the Marshall. I'd say you'd be happy with either one. I'm like you. Decisions like that make me crazy. What ever you decide, don't look back. No could have beens or should have beens. "Love the One Your With". (Stephen Stills) |
