Im thinking about buying a vox cch ( head ) as i know they are perfect for indie but my question is, my band will also pla bands such as Green Day, The Ramones and the Clash and i was wondering could the custom classic sound like that i need a good midrange crunch like a plexi how close can the new ac30's get.
Also ive heard as you turn the volume up you get more treble and less mids is this true?
Thanks for any help |

I don't claim to know everything, or even a lot about amps.
However, the Vox AC30 (from my experience) is extremely versatile. I'm thinking of getting one myself. It should be able to handle just about anything except for Metal or that watered-down Seattle grunge top 40 garbage.
Green Day (on their last album) used a ton of old marshalls, which arguably are different from a vox custom classic, but I think you should be able to replicate it pretty well.
Also, the Vox CCH heads are awesome, but it depends a lot on what you're plugging it into. One of those tan fender 2x12's with the Vintage Celeston 30's would sound awesome. I'd just make sure that whatever cab you're using, fits the nature of the amp... but that's sort of a given. |

| I think you probably will need some additional gain to get the GREEN DAY sounds.. maybe a pedal boost in front of amp will be enough... just to hit the amp with a bit more signal and overdrive the 1st gain stage a bit. |
