Help!!!
I have done the suggested mods for my Vox Cambridge (opto, power chip) but now have a problem. The amp does not work now, only a loud hum. Have I crossed a wire? When the parts say 'static sensitive', does that mean I could have done something to the parts when soldering?
Have patience with this dummy. I have done quite a bit of soldering but am no expert on circuitry.
Help! Crying or Very sad

I had the same problem when I upgraded mine. It could be a short circuit on one of the pins of the IC. In my case it was a grounding-out of the IC where it contacts the heatsink. I'd failed to reuse the plastic insulator from the original component. I hope this helps you out.
