okay, so i get confused with amps. i have a squier strat and i have a line 6 spider II amp. i'm satisfied with the amp, but i want to know, how do i get it to make that real electric sound?
any help etc.?

depends on what you mean by that real electric sound. Being that I'm not too familiar with the layout of the the spider, I'd say your best bet is to pick a guitarist who's sound you like the most, find out what kind of gear he's using and try to emulate it one the spider. If he prefers vintage equipment, use to more vintage settings, vice versa if he uses more modern high gain stuff.
