|

Hey everybody; I purchased a new Peavey Valveking 112 yesterday and it sounds great! However, I am having one troublesome problem.
After I let the amp out of standby and start playing, the back of the amp sometimes lets out a quiet metallic hiss. This hiss does not effect the sound coming out of the amplifier; it only appears to be audible from the upper back part of the amp. It seems to only happen when the top part of the amp vibrates.
Could anyone offer some advice on how to remedy this? This is my first tube amp and I'd hate to have it break because of this hiss...
EDIT: this hissing/metallic ringing occurs occasionally throughout play. |

You're probably just experiencing something called vibration.
Provided the sound is not coming out of the speakers, it is just something that happens on combo amps. It could be any number of things vibrating, possibly the tubes themselves or the retainers. It isn't anything to worry about. |
