These days I play a new Epiphone Valve Standard. It's a great amp, 15W all tube 1x12. Cool and everthing, but once you get the master volume at about 50%, it get this weird hum. Sort of like single coil hum but not as intense. If I turn the master up to 100% it goes away. Anyone know what it is, how to fix it, and/or how much it costs?

check the tubes. More times than not it's a faulty power tube or preamp tube. If not then take it in to have it checked out. I had this problem once with my Carvin V3. Turned out the AC power supply was leaking. Cost about 170 to replace the tubes and fix the power supply.

I remember the people who had problems with their Valve JR's and Standards mentioned something about the power supply and changing it to DC or something like that? Confused Confused
