HI,
I am a newbie here and pretty green when it comes to amps.
I do know it is good to ground the chassis of these old amps so I have done a few.
I am having a problem with my GA20 since I grounded it.The reverb gradually gets a loader humm as I play .
It stops when the foot switch is stept on.
I have also replaced all tubes with nos ones.Yeah $$$ I know.
Also it has a lot more Volume for a GA20, Do the power tubes have to be dialed in if they are new?
I am tempted to pull the ground off and see if thet is it.
Also typically do you run the hot wire to the switch or the fuse?
I have the hot to the switch and the neutral to the fuse side, and the ground to the chassis.

Thanks for any advice you can give.I could use it.
Kirk

The amps I have are
GA20 Crest 1951
GA45RVT Saturn
Epiphone Comet EA32RVT
GA20RVT Minuteman
GA55RVT Ranger
GA19Falcon
That is it for now, the wife says I need to sell a few.

I'm not sure how it is recommended to do a Gibson, I just did a Fender, and the power goes to the inside of the fuse first then from the other side of the fuse to the switch then the other side of the switch goes to the transformer then from the transformer to the neutral and of course the green or ground gets a star washer to the chassis. Hope that helps.

I am not sure that even if you do it this way it would clear up the noise.

PM me your email and I'll send you the diagrams and instructions.
