In this situation....
I received my Boss DD-20 the other day and after trying things out I decided to give the "PAN" function a try. Now I know this is truly setup for a stereo amp but I figured to try something out just to see if it works....
Heres what I tried: I plugged from the second output from my cool cat chorus (the output that you would use for stereo) and plugged that into the second input of the DD-20 now with the sencond output of the DD-20 I plugged that directly into my crap A$$ practice amp. Low and behold the panning effect worked and man did my chorus sound great!. Now these two pedals are plugged trough the effects loop of my 5150. When I turned all the effects off, my practice amp turned into more so a monitor for my amp + making the effects stereo. So to conclude my theory I turned on the effects that are plugged directly into the 5150 and to my surprise the effected signal was heard through the monitor.
OK my question, what kind of amp would I use to compliment or make my effects stereo using the 5150 head? I have 2 cabs already, so the extra speakers won't be the problem. To me it seems that all I need is something with a clear clean channel cause all it will be doing is copying my 5150 sound.... But Please no expensive suggestions, I'm trying to save up for a output tranny replacement for the 5150.
Thanks all in advance!!!
Gary

If I understand your setup(?), basically you want to run in stereo and use the 5150 for the dirty side and something else for the clean side?
I've used a Marshall MG 100 with good results in a similar application. These are pretty durable, and cheap too. |
