HI. I've always Wanted a Fender amp, but i'm on a very limited budget Crying or Very sad . For Christmas i got a VOX AD50VT, With a bunch o' effects and models and such, which i thought would be great Wink , but it turns out. . .it aint Sad . It's not my sound or my style i need an amp that suits me, i need a fender. Lastnight i was Walking by a local guitar store and in the window i saw two price cut, lovely little amps. A Fender FM212R, and a Fender Deluxe 90(no effects). I prefer the look of the 90, but the FM has 2 speakers and is ten more watts, but is also larger.(i'm lazy) I Play Indie Rock, (Modest mouse, built to spill), Punk rock (Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Pixies) and Blues, (Gilmour stuff, BB King Buddy Guy) mainly pink floyd stuff and Modest mouse style stuff. WHICH AMP SHOULD I TRADE IN FOR MY VOX Question Laughing

hi i would check out the fender hot rod deluxe or deville.i tried the fm212 and i was not impressed it sounded kinda reedy on highnotes also its kinda like a modeling amp which you already have. the devile 2x12 60 watt tube is a grat sounding amp great for blues and rock not a heavy metal amp. also the deluxe 1x12 40 watt tube is a good amp although i did not try it ,it got a great review in guitar player mag.and its a little lighter than the deville. both the deville and the deluxe are gig capible good luck jry

You need to play everything. Bring your amps with you and compare them. Test out all your licks (although I would leave out "Smells Like Smoke on the Stairway to Freebird") and let your ears tell you what the right amp for you is. Play what you would play on stage. If it doesn't sound right in the store, do you really want to try it onstage?
