One amp, two speakers

Hello,
I am looking for some advice, i own a fully working Orange Crush 30watt amp, and a broken "Kustom" (Yes that is a company!) 35DFX amp. I know that the speaker (its a nice celestion) works in the Kustom and it is the same rating/impedance as my orange amp. I was wondering if i can power both two speakers from the one amp? Is there a simple way i can do this or would i need to do things like make my own parts? The amp only has headphone and line out switches. If i can, then i would hope to get an old empty 2by12 Cabinet and mount the speakers in there? Any reply would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to say, but No. Unless you could change the impedance rating on
the Orange amp.

If the 2 speakers have the same impedance, and you hook them together, the
result would either be double their individual current impedance or only half
of their individual current impedance.

Some people would go ahead and do it. And it may work well for you for
some time. If you want to be on the safe side, make sure your speaker load
matches what the amp is expecting.

p.s - while I'm thinking about it - does the amp manual say anything about
different wattages at different speaker loads? some do, but I'm not familiar
with the orange amps.

Thanks for the reply. No unfortunatley the orange manual is only two pages long and not very helpful at all. I might get the old amp repaired then, i changed the transformer but that wasnt it. It might be the tubes... or i could just sell the speaker or the whole lot. Thanks again.

Two speakers using just a single amplifier is impossible.

genusled - Just for your information. I'll make up a scenario.

You have an amp. It is hardwired to use an 8 ohm speaker.
You get 2 4 ohm speakers and wire them in series, for a total load of
8 ohms. No problems. You can end up with 1 amp with one speaker
out jack and use 2 speakers, regardless if they are in a 2x12 cabinet or
2 individual 1x12 cabinets.

Where hellraiser was running into problems is that the impedance level on
his amp would not match the impedance of the two speakers, no matter how
he hooked them up.

There is an exception to this rule, but I'm still trying to figure it out / learn
about it. But I can say for now, if there is a will, there IS a way.
