Hey, I just had a major problem with this amp, heres what happened:
I started her up like normal, left her for a few minutes to warm up and started playing at bedroom volume... About a minute into playing and my volume drops by about half, so i turn her onto standby and have a look at the back....Only 2 power tubes out of 4 are glowing then suddenly a blue flash and it won't turn on..
I check the fuse's and one by the mains power input has blown....I checked out the power tubes and they look fine, theres no brown/black marks.
Do you reckon its the fuse? or have I blown a valve/tube as well?
I'm replacing the fuse tomorrow...Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

| It certainly sounds like a fuse problem. If there is no discoloration in the tube, then that's what I would chaulk it up to. The question then becomes, why did the fuse blow in the first place? |

Well i replaced the blown fuse with a 3.15 amp 150V fuse in it, when its suppose to be a 3.15 250V but its working perfectly. I think its because of the inbuilt power break since this amp is for American and here in the U.K we have 240V mains.... Iv heard about this problem before on the valveking, well since theres now a 150V in there it should blow way before any damage to the actual amp could happen from a power surge... |
