Hi folks...brand new to the forum...got a question for you....
I'm looking for an all-tube amp, 15-30 watts that can cover classic Marshall sounds. I love that EL34 sound. I'm looking for a combo amp...either 1x12 or 2x12 with celestion G12's or similar...something that can get good full-bodied crunch at normal levels (without destroying a small city). I mainly record and play in church (large church which seats close to 3,000, but we put a mic on the amp).
I currently use a Marshall DSL50 with all voiced JJ tubes through a 4x12 Mojave cabinet with Celestion G12s. BUT I HATE lugging that beast around and at 50W, I have to kill people to get the sound I'm going for. I'm going to sell these and get something manageable.
I play a Les Paul Jr. Double cutaway (custom made) with a single 9K Wolfetone Marshallhead pickup....use a Keely modded Boss BD-2 Blues Driver, and I have a Seymour Duncan Twin Classic on the way....
The sound I love..."JukeBox Hero" and "Double Vision" (Foreigner), "Flirtin With Disaster" (Molly Hatchet), "Train" (Blackfoot), etc.
Everything is game...expensive, inexpensive, from Crate to Dr. Z....let me know your thoughts...
Talk to me....
