i'm stuck, i love the look of the new voxes, it's a huge part of my wanting the cab, sadly, i know looks aren't tone, but if need be, i'd trick it out to get it sounding just fine. but i'm being told marshal cabs are the way to go?
i went to guitar center and they didn't have any in stock, so the guy hooked me up to a 1960a cab, it sounded alright, i hadnt had my gear plugged in and they didn't really crank it, so i'm torn, it sounded really bassy, and just well, good. and it's 300 watts compared to the vox's being 120 watt, and if i had a 300 watt cab i'd be set for life right, and it'd get the best out of my 100 watt fender rm head as opposed to the vox right?
but, on the vox situation, they have that ad series half stack, i don't believe they sell just the cab for that particular model, but if i could get my hands on it, that'd be awesome because that cab is irregularly higher than most cabs, and i love odd shaped things like that, it's about the size of one of those big ampeg cabs if you can imagine that. and the look, like i said, is amazing, it looks so beautiful, and the guy i was talking to at guitar center said now-a-day vox puts cheap japenese speakers in there, but if that's the only different, i'll use the extra 200 bucks i would use to get a 1960a cab to just put in celestions or black shadows in the vox.
well after my constant rambling, i'll give you guys links, im sure you know what models im talking about, but if you could look up some specifics to get a better idea, that'd be amazing.
Marshal 1960a- http://www.music123.com/Marshall-1960A-Angled-Cab-i20338.music
Vox V412- (brown front) http://www.music123.com/VOX-V412BN-i158100.music
Vox V412BL- (blue front) http://www.music123.com/VOX-V412BL-i435855.music
if i'm not mistaken the vox's are about 5 inches bigger than the average cab right?
